SHOWSTOPPER COMPETITION - Wisconsin Dells

DESCRIPTION:
Similar to the other competitions, Showstoppers will send out the competition schedule two weeks before the time dancers perform. Dancers only have to be there on the days they are performing. Please do your best to support other Studio Via dancers as it is important to show support for your teammates.

HOTEL INFORMATION:
Competition is held at the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells. Dancers do not need to stay at the Kalahari. Families can also stay at any surrounding hotel. Please book your hotel for both days since we don’t know the competition schedule two weeks out. The minute we find out the competition schedule, we will let you know to adjust your hotel accommodations. It’s important to book the hotel and make adjustments rather than not having a hotel and trying to make one at a later date. Wisconsin Dells has numerous hotel options, staying at the Kalahari isn’t necessary. Since the dancers will be dancing a great amount, they won’t get to utilize the waterparks as frequently as a family usually would. Below are a few other options of hotels you can book if you’d rather stay somewhere other than the Kalahari.
SCHEDULE:
Showstoppers do not plan for “fast changes” when they make the schedule. Sometimes the schedule comes out and we have four 1-number changes. Miss Kim talks with the DJ in the room and adjusts the performance schedule. She can only do this a few hours before they go on stage.
Miss Kim will text team group chats to tell them when the dancers will perform. Ex. First dance 10 numbers ahead around 2:00 pm/running and doing 4 number changes.
A TV screen on the side of the stage says what dance will be on stage next and this will be your guide to the chaos backstage.
Dancers should also arrive 90 minutes before their on-stage time. Miss Kim will send out a final schedule. Showstoppers are the dancers’ favorite competition of the season because they bring energy and excitement, so the dancers look forward to it every year.
LIVE FEED:
Showstoppers does offer a live feed of the competition, so extended family/friends can watch your dancers on stage. Links will be sent out before the event. There is no added fee to watch the Live Feed
PICTURES/VIDEO:
Showstoppers does not charge dancer media fees so pictures and video can be purchased before or after the event through their website. Downloads will be sent directly to your email.
AWARD CEREMONIES:
Showstoppers does really fast award ceremonies that do not last over 15 minutes.
